Recognition of the Communication Discipline
in the National Research Council Assessments

The National Research Council included Communications in its assessment of research doctorate programs in 2006. Data analysishas been continuing with a report released in September 2009. The following materials from CCA members provide background information as well as current activities involved with this process.

CCA created a special "Task Force on the NRC Study" in spring 2003 to work with the NRC and our member associations in this process. The task force is chaired by Dr. Linda Putnam of the University of California Santa Barbara. Much of the information/material below was gathered/created by the task force.
